UFC stands for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The UFC was born in 1993, and operates as a professional Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA organization that produces the premier MMA events and now has their own brand of clothing. The original goal of the UFC was to find the "Ultimate Fighting Champion" though a variety of competitions that tested various skills and disciplines in all MMA Combat Sports including karate, jiu-jitsu, boxing, kickboxing, grappling, wrestling, and sumo wrestling. Today, the UFC is still going strong, organizing many of the popular UFC events for all varieties of MMA sports including UFC® 137, UFC 136®, UFC 135® and a handful of Ultimate Fight Night Challenges. It is because of the UFC that MMA Sports were made popular in the United States.
