Born May 24, 1979 is an American mixed martial artist, as well as a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kenpō Karate, who competes in the heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and a former UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion. Mir currently holds the record for most victories in the heavyweight division of the UFC with 13. As of May, 2011, Mir was ranked the #7 heavyweight in the world by Sherdog #9 heavyweight in the world by MMAWeekly as of August 2011 #8 heavyweight by Yahoo! Sports and Fight! Magazine.
